On January 5, 2025, President Joe Biden officially signed the Social Security Fairness Act (H.R. 82) into law. This law repeals the Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP) and the Government Pension Offset (GPO) pension rules, which do not relate to the Railroad Retirement Benefits program (RRB). The new law does not apply to your situation.
