On August 14, 2026, Social Security marks 91 years since the Social Security Act was signed into law in 1935.
For more than nine decades, Social Security has provided an important source of financial support for retired workers, people with disabilities, and families receiving survivor benefits. Today, the program continues to play a central role in retirement income planning for millions of Americans.
As we recognize this milestone, NARSSA remains committed to expanding Social Security education and helping financial professionals and consumers make more informed decisions about their benefits.
