Pamela Kweller RSSA Staff

Medicare’s open enrollment period began October 15, 2023 and ends on December 7, 2023. If you haven’t started to prepare, you can begin now with these 3 suggestions.

1. Access and review the 2024 Medicare Handbook

Learn everything you need to know about 2024 Medicare including important dates, the different “Parts” of Medicare, coverage, and more. Access the 2024 Medicare & You handbook here.

2. Check and read your mail

If you are already enrolled in Medicare then you should have received the Annual Notice of Changes (ANOC) in the mail by now. Each fall, your Medicare plan sends you a notice with changes for the upcoming year. Read this notice carefully as it may help you determine whether or not you need to make changes to your current plan, coverage, and selections. Learn more about ANOC here.

3. Take your time

Open enrollment closes on December 7, 2023 which gives you plenty of time to make your choices. Take the time to compare plan options and determine if changes need to be made in order to meet your needs in 2024. You can compare different plans and coverage options here.

Be sure to make any necessary changes by the December 7th deadline. Any changes along with associated costs will take effect January 1, 2024.

Once you are fully prepared, visit to make your selections.
