Meet Russell Haas, RSSA®
Russell Haas is an independent insurance broker and retirement planning professional dedicated to helping individuals and families navigate the often confusing world of Social Security, Medicare, and retirement income planning. As a Registered Social Security Analyst® (RSSA®), Russell has completed advanced training focused on Social Security claiming strategies, retirement timing decisions, Medicare coordination, spousal and survivor benefits, and retirement income planning.
Russell understands that many people approaching retirement have important questions:
“When should I take Social Security?”
“How do Medicare and Social Security work together?”
“Will claiming early affect my long-term retirement income?”
His goal is to help clients make informed, confident decisions based on their personal situation — not guesswork.
As an independent advisor, Russell works with clients throughout Connecticut and takes pride in simplifying complex topics into clear, easy-to-understand guidance. Whether someone is preparing to retire, transitioning off employer coverage, or looking to create reliable retirement income, Russell focuses on building personalized strategies designed around each client’s goals.
Born and raised in Connecticut, Russell currently lives in Naugatuck with his wife Anne, an elementary school teacher, and their two cats, Poppy and Beau. Clients appreciate his patience, attention to detail, and commitment to leaving people in a better position than he found them.

Divorced
If you are divorced and 62 or older, you may qualify to receive Social Security benefits from your ex-spouse — in addition to your own Social Security payments. Ask an RSSA® for details.
Widowed
If your spouse has passed away, you may be eligible for a survivor benefit. The extra money may be essential for you. Ask an RSSA® for details.
Single
If you are single, and solely responsible for your retirement, making the optimal Social Security claiming decision is particularly important. Ask an RSSA® about your options.
Self-Employed
As a self-employed person, you may be able to decrease your payroll taxes — yet still receive the maximum income from Social Security. Ask an RSSA® for details.
