Karin graduated from Florida State University with a Major in Spanish and a Minor in Hotel and Restaurant Management. She is in her 38th year in the Insurance business. She is a CLU (Chartered Life Underwriter Emeritus); LUTCF (Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow), and a RSSA (Registered Social Security Analyst). She was a member of the Society of Financial Services Professionals for many years in FL.
Before calling Anchorage her home, Karin lived in the Tampa Bay area. She spent 12 years as a Community Relations Manager and certified Credit Counselor for Consumer Credit Counseling Service, teaching budget, credit and home buyer workshops in both English and Spanish. She is an instructor for The Florida Insurance School 28 years, writing and teaching state-certified insurance CE (Continuing Education) courses nationally via webinar for life and health agents. She recently wrote a four-hour Annuity Suitability course for FL agents, which she teaches via webinar. Karin has her own insurance practice, dba MyPoMInsurance.com. Her focus is assisting individuals and families in life, annuities, long term care, disability, and individual major medical. She also offers help with Social Security claiming strategies.
Karin and her husband Bob, a 50-year Anchorage resident and partner in a local law firm, were married in Oct 2019, and blended a family of 5 sons, a daughter and 8 grandchildren. Her hobbies include painting, public speaking, and spending time with Bob camping, hiking, gardening, reading and rifle range. She is fluent in Spanish and conversational in German.
