Professional Details

I have worked to achieve to become a seasoned, licensed insurance agent with over 30 years of experience. Beginning my insurance journey in 1987.   In 2015, I decided to work with a fraternal insurance organization, Woman’s Life Insurance Society, Port Huron, MI, as a Regional Director assisting members (clients) of the society and also training agents with products and continuing education services. Joining the Woman’s Life home office team was an opportunity to educate agents and help current members with insurance needs and mostly to share my knowledge with others.    In 2024, Woman’s Life merged with Trusted Fraternal Life (TFL), Milwaukee, WI, and I finished my career with TFL on June 1, 2026.  Working as a home office employee, I realized there is such an incredible need to serve and educate people with insurance and retirement planning.  I just could not sit on the sidelines so I started my independent practice again, Beacon Harbor Financial.  I wanted to get back to my roots and work with my community.  I thought that the RSSA designation would provide another avenue of education for my clients.

Now that I am outside of the home office arena, I still provide continuing education opportunities as an instructor with classroom instruction.  I assist agents and work with Advocate Financial Life and Health Brokerage, Ft. Wayne, IN .  Currently providing six courses; totaling 16 total credits.  Agents/brokers need 24 total credits every two years to remain compliant with their resident state to continue to sell insurance.  To conclude my course trainings, my goal is to provide to the agent valuable insight, skills and confidence with insurance knowledge.

I have lived in Northwest Ohio the majority of my life.  I grew up in Waterville, OH and went to Anthony Wayne High School.  I currently live in Northwood, Ohio, with my husband, Jim, of 37 years.  I have three wonderful adult children, Amanda, Em, and Brian and my daughter-in-law, Emily.  I have two beautiful grandchildren, Wyatt (11) and Spenser (8).  Of course, our family dog named Jojo, a lab and bluetick coonhound mix.  Life is wild and always good times in the Collins home! I love to work in my yard, landscaping and gardening and hitting a golf ball every now and then.  My husband and I just began a new business, called Creative Nook.  This new endeavor allows us to use our creative side and restore and renew home decor.
