Maximize Your Benefits
Discover important information for your situation.
Married
If you are married, you may be able to collect up to one-half of your spouse’s Social Security benefit. This won’t affect your spouse’s checks. Ask an RSSA® for details.

Divorced
If you are divorced and 62 or older, you may qualify to receive Social Security benefits from your ex-spouse — in addition to your own Social Security payments. Ask an RSSA® for details.

Widowed
If your spouse has passed away, you may be eligible for a survivor benefit. The extra money may be essential for you. Ask an RSSA® for details.

Single
If you are single, and solely responsible for your retirement, making the optimal Social Security claiming decision is particularly important. Ask an RSSA® about your options.

Self-Employed
As a self-employed person, you may be able to decrease your payroll taxes — yet still receive the maximum income from Social Security. Ask an RSSA® for details.

Disability
Social Security can provide valuable disability benefits if you qualify, but these benefits — and how you qualify for them — are often misunderstood. Ask an RSSA® for details.

Immigrant
If you are a lawful permanent resident, but not yet a citizen, you may still qualify for Social Security benefits. Ask an RSSA® for details.

Spending time with Kit regarding Social Security was great. The process with Kit was a breeze. She is personable, knowledgeable and professional. Kit follows up and gets back to you in a timely fashion. Kit cares about people and how she can support them. I would gladly and with confidence recommend Kit.
We enjoyed working with Catherine (Kit) in seeking information about our Social Security benefits and timing of when is best to start taking our benefits to achieve the best outcome. She is a trained RSSA agent and has access to their RoadMap tool that can provide numerous scenarios/outcomes of taking social security benefits at different ages. The tool will recommend when is the best time to do this to maximum SSA benefits.
Kit’s knowledge and the Roadmap tool are especially useful if you are married and even factors in if your spouse has other pensions (for example Colorado PERA Pension) that reduce your SSA benefits. We were surprised that the analysis from Kit and the Roadmap tool suggested that we may be better off taking our benefits at an earlier age rather than at our Full SSA Retirement age to maximize our total benefits during our lifetimes. Very helpful, as would never thought to look at it that way.
Thanks Kit.
Kit was very helpful. She was knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and boiled down a complex subject to provide professional, concise advice for our specific situation. We highly recommend her.
