About Jim Deminno

Jim DeMinno has more than three decades of experience in tax and accounting services, and more than a dozen years of experience in wealth management and financial services. Jim formed his practice, after working for many years in the tax department of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), because he wanted to provide a comprehensive resource for clients’ financial, accounting, and tax needs.

With a passion for the challenge his role presents, Jim enjoys serving as a trusted guide for his clients, helping them coordinate their financial needs and understand their opportunities. While he provides a vast array of services, Jim specializes in IRS representation, tax planning, and wealth management. Jim has a deep commitment to protecting his clients from the possibility of having their lives destroyed by the IRS.

In addition to tax and wealth management services, Jim collaborates with attorneys and other like-minded professionals to coordinate estate planning, eldercare, and other needs clients may have. He ensures that every client is treated with the utmost care and respect and takes pride in the fact that he has been able to help so many people over the years.

Jim’s diverse educational background adds depth to his strong tax, accounting, and wealth management knowledge. A Registered Representative with Cetera Financial Specialists, Jim holds Series 6, 7, and 63 securities registrations and life and health insurance licenses. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Rockland County’s sole Certified Tax Resolution Specialist (CTRS). Jim is a Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) as recognized by the AICPA, a Certified Management Accountant (CMA), and a QuickBooks ProAdvisor. He received his Bachelor of Science in accounting from Manhattan College (Jim is proud to boast that he is a Jasper), his Master of Business Administration in taxation from Iona College, and his Post Master’s Certificate in Finance (PMC) from Iona College.

Beyond his experience and knowledge, Jim has been recognized for his accomplishments and active role in the industry. He was presented with the Cetera Leadership Council Award in 2012 and 2014 through 2018 and is recognized by the American Society for Tax Problem Solvers. He is a member of the New York State Society of CPAs (NYSSCPA), New Jersey State Society of CPAs (NJSSCPA), and the AICPA. 

Jim has instructed income tax planning courses for the CFP program at Marymount College and SUNY, Rockland, and always gives back to the community as a volunteer. He is active in Adopt a Soldier, JCC Rockland, Rotary International, and NYFD’s Lil’ Bravest. The DeMinno CPA Firm, PC also supports the community through offering discounted rates for public servants (Police and Fire Departments), as well as FREE tax return preparation services for active members of the military.

A lifelong New Yorker, Jim was born and raised in the Bronx and also lived in Westchester County for several years. He currently resides in Bergen County, New Jersey with his wife, Randi, and their dog, a Havanese named JuJu. In his spare time, he enjoys relaxing in Boca Raton, Florida, reading James Patterson books, officiating D1 college football games, and playing golf.
